July 2009 — Greystar Kennels picked up a pregnant greyhound only weeks from her due date. We successfully delivered an “oops!” litter of seven black greyhounds – well, we watched, mama dog did all the real work – but we lost two within a few days. The five surviving pups and mama are all doing well and have been adopted. And yes, Heather & I adopted one of those pups! Dash is now a year old and is every bit the terrorist you’d expect a greyhound puppy to be – and we wouldn’t trade it for all the money in the world.

June 2010 — Heather & I adopted Sooner Sarah after a successful rehabilitation was virtually undone by a single forum post. (Adoption announcement tells a bit more: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php/topic/256468-the-weight-that-lays-on-your-shoulders/) While we celebrated adding Sarah to our family we also became keenly aware of our newly focused goal: making sure that greyhound adoption groups have an outside support structure for rehabilitation cases. Whether a group is dealing with a return after an aggression incident, has a senior being returned and no foster space available, or just needs a new retiree socialized because they are shy or aggressive or [insert label here] – we will provide a solution.
